Know your legal rights.
Then, with advice and counsel from a mediation-friendly attorney, decide what to do with them.
Consulting Attorney
As a consulting attorney, Michelle will provide advice and counsel you from the very beginning of your mediation to the end when signing your agreement. The law plays a role in crafting your divorce agreement, but the law should not dictate how you and your spouse end up coming to an agreement. Every family's finances and needs are different. As your consulting attorney, Michelle will make sure you're knowledgeable about your rights. You can then be confident that you're making the right decisions for your situation. The number of hours needed for a consulting attorney depends on the level of complexity of the parties' assets and debts.
Review Attorney
As a review attorney, Michelle comes in at the end of the process, after you've worked with a mediator and have a written agreement. Michelle will review your agreement, spending approximately 4-6 hours (less if there is no property or debts), and make sure you have or reach a solid agreement. Michelle will recognize your goal to resolve your conflict through mediation, and offer expert counsel and suggestions for how you might amend the agreement to best serve your needs.
